· This archive contains device driver version 9.0.1.9 and Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software version 9.0.1.0.
· Hardware support is included only for the Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection and the Intel® PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection
· This is a maintenance release and no additional features have been added since version 9.0.0.0. Improvements include:
o Resolution of intermittent disconnects on channels 1, 2, and 3 on some adapters
o Improved application of Windows* Group Policy when using Pre-Login Connect Feature (PLC)
o Improved Reporting of RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) in noisy RF environments
o Transmit Power Control function expanded to passive-scan channels
o
Channel 14 added to channel list for ad-hoc
networks (
o Improvements for clients using SIM cards for authentication
o Credential caching for TTLS authentication did not work, but now works as expected.

Installing/updating
Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software
·
To install the driver and Intel®
PROSet/Wireless Software, simply run AUTORUN.EXE from the root of
this archive and select "Install Software".
The
first time you run the Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software Installer, the Installer
automatically installs this version or upgrades previously installed software
to this version. Subsequent times you
run the Installer, options are offered to uninstall, modify installed
components, or install new components.
Unified
installation summary
On
software installation, both the device driver and Intel® PROSet/Wireless
Software will be installed.
On software removal, both the device driver and Intel® PROSet/Wireless
Software will be uninstalled.
Installing/updating the
adapter driver without installing Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software
You can install just the
device driver in one of two ways:
Execute the setupwld.exe program in the driver directory of the archive;
or utilize the OS device manager utility.
Compatibility
· This release supports only Windows XP Home*, Windows XP Professional*, Windows XP Tablet*, Windows XP Media Edition*, and Windows 2000 Professional*.
· This release supports only the Intel® PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection and the Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection.
· Windows XP is supported by this version of Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software. You can manage your wireless connections either by the built-in utilities of Windows XP or via Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software. If you desire to use Windows XP to manage the wireless connection, you only need to install the device driver and not install Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software.
